The arts' is a broad subdivision of culture, composed of many expressive disciplines.
The arts' encompasses visual arts, performing arts, language arts and culinary arts.
The Kids On The Move America Arts & Music Programs collaborates with youth to create an active learning environment that engages participants in meaningful experiences with different types of art & music.
Learning Objectives:
- Emphasis on analytic skills provides support to studies in music & art as well as other areas of the school curriculum- from observation, conversation, vocabulary building and writing skills.
- Students’ participation in performing events (plays, musicals, drama, dance, crafts, and painting) will enhance creativity; develop their gifts, talents and visions.
- Exposure to the world history of art and music and its place in current society.
The components of the programs include the use of a variety of tools and techniques.
- Students will participate in drawing, painting and hands on craft making activities.
- To help students understand and recognize the significance of music to their lives; explore the fundamentals of what is music, what role does music play in our lives and how can music help you in succeeding in life.
- A musician is constantly adjusting decisions on tempo, tone, style, rhythm, phrasing and feeling- training the brain to become incredibly good at organizing and conducting numerous activities at once.
Culture is the arts, beliefs, customs institutions and all other products of human work and thought created by a people or group at a particular time.
- Survival and success of our students will depend highly upon personal relationships developed through the understanding and appreciation of world culture.
- Students will learn how to interact with other cultures by engaging in intercultural dialog. The ability to communicate with another individual is key to harmony.
- American Culture is a melting pot of other cultures. American culture is made up of bits and pieces of other countries.
At the completion of the programs students would have developed critical thinking skills and foster an appreciation for the arts, music and world culture. Students will know the importance of respecting America cultural that allows us the freedoms to pursue our dreams.
